Post war Americans brought with them a lack of fear for the sun and a buoyant energy for outdoor activities. They brushed aside old European snobbery and, like a breath of fresh air, ignited a fresh interest in the Cote d'Azur as a summer destination.
Nowadays the Cote d'Azur is a year round escape with clear blue winter skies and close access to skiing. The spring months are the most fragrant and arguably the most beautiful while summer is simply the busiest with the most activities and the most fun to be had.

Antibes in Spring
Springtime is a beautiful time on the Cote d'Azur. The air is scented with fragrant spring flowers and is showing the first warmth of the summer sun. It is quite a quiet time of year with fewer crowds and a more gentle pace.
Events are scheduled throughout the year in most of the French Riviera towns for the pleasure of residents and tourists alike. In Antibes, during the spring months, you can expect to find an antiques fair, a jazz competition as a prelude to the summer festival, sand sculpture exhibitions as well as a bread festival, a bridge festival, street theatre and operetta performances.

The summer season on the French Riviera is busy everywhere as people flood in on short holidays or longer summer tours. Antibes has it's fair share of visitors as the yachts and pleasure cruisers sail into town for the season.
This sees a truly international crowd gather in Antibes-Juan-les-Pins as working crew from all over the world populate the town aswell as the many summer visitors.
The big summer events include 'Sailboats of Antibes', 'Jazz in Juan' international jazz festival, 'Fireworks and Music festival', as well as flower battles, art exhibitons and music concerts throughout the summer months.

There is no denying that the Winter months in Antibes-Juan-les-Pins are the quietest time of year, a blessing to many. The days are crystal clear and fresh with blue skies and bright sunshine. This is a great time to take in some of the nature trails and walks around the city when it is neither too hot nor too crowded.
Winter is the perfect time to wander the streets unhindered, get a table in your favourite restaurant, take in some winter activities like sailing, skiing or hiking and see Antibes in a more local and authentic setting.
