Antibes is in the Alpes Maritimes department of France and is the second largest town in the department. It is situated 20 kilometers to the west of Nice and 12.5 kilometers to the east of Cannes. It has 25 kilometers of sandy beaches and is punctuated by the beautiful and exclusive craggy headland of the Cap d'Antibes and also includes the long white sandy stretches of Juan Les Pins beaches that are so adored by French tourists. Antibes is home to the largest pleasure boating Marina in Europe and also hosts France's 'silicon valley', Sophia Antipolis lying to the north of the town.

Antibes is a harbour town on the South coast of France on the French Riviera. It stretches out between Villeneuve Loubet to the East, Cannes to the West and, France's answer to silicone valley, Sophia Antipolis to the North.
It houses the largest pleasure boating marina in Europe spread over four different ports and was once the last port within the border of France, before the border was resolved, which brought with it considerable political and strategic significance in France.
Now Antibes is something of a 'yachties' mecca as the port has retired it's military associations and is now entirely geared towards privately owned boats, yachts and pleasure cruisers. You will find some of the world's most valuable and impressive custom designed, privately owned boats moored here during the season which gives Antibes a very international flavour as crews, owners and guests from all over the world take up residence. The influx of young crew members also means that 25percent of the population is under the age of 25 making for a pretty lively atmosphere.

Antibes is a sprawling town reaching back from the coast into the north towards the technology park of Sophia Antipolis 10km away. To the east lies a sweeping coast road framed by a long public beach leading to Cagnes-sur-Mer also 10km away.
To the west, Antibes incorporates the beautiful and exclusive Cap d'Antibes which divides Antibes from
the white sandy stretches of Juan-les-Pins. The Cap has few roads and, with large private estates and grand villas set in mature gardens, it maintains a somewhat remote and quiet atmosphere given it's location on this busy coastline. The town and surrounding area of Antibes reaches an end on the outskirts of Cannes 12.5km in the distance.
