Where is Cannes
Cannes is on the South Eastern coast of France. It is 20kms to the west of Nice in the heart of the French Riviera and 160km East of Marseille. Cannes is a coastal town and lies in the Alpes Maritimes department of the Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur Region of France or Paca.

Cannes has its own airport but it is small and used mainly for private planes and private charters so the nearest airport is Nice. From there it is a short drive along the A8 motorway or a more scenic meander along the coast hugging road to Cannes Ville.
Cannes is one of the most famous cities along the French Riviera with it's by now world famous film festival and the 'A list' visitors that this star studded event brings. Always a favourite destination on the Riviera it is not just its celebrity studded present that has elevated it's reknown but also it's royalty studded past.
Cannes is famous and loved by tourists for its well maintained sandy beach that is cleaned, raked and disinfected on a daily basis. The coastline from Nice to Monaco has a rockier and stonier outline which only serves to highlight the white sands of Cannes.
The old town of Cannes is known as Le Suquet and sits high above the leafy squares and the old port. The traditonal narrow streets wind steeply uphill to the ancient fortification, church and square. The views are of course spectacular with the whole town displayed at your feet framed by the Baie de Cannes and the Massif Esterel mountains.
