There are no shortage of restaurants in Cannes but finding the right one for you can prove a little bit tricky. The sea front is lined with restaurants but many of them front onto the road, are large chains or are over priced. It is worth wandering the streets to find little tucked away places or to read reviews and do a little bit of research It is harder to stumble upon great little eating places in Cannes than it is in other Riviera towns, where you can hardly go wrong. Below are some suggestions but please add your own reviews to our review section if you have found the perfect place. This restaurant in Cannes, just behind the sea front is everything you expect from a cosy, charming, French country restaurant. It has a touch of Parisian brasserie and French grandmother kitchen about it. The food is excellent, unpretentious, in-expensive, seasonal and delicious. Try the beef daube as a heartier local speciality than fish. The service is good albeit slow but being on the French Riviera it is to be expected. Open from 8.00am until 2.30am this is great stop off for any time of day. A favourite and a reliable 'go-to' when you just want to be sure of a good meal in a good ambience.

Vega Luna is a beach club restaurant right in the centre of the famous Cannes beach. With the ubiquitous sun loungers and some sun sofas this beach club has that little bit extra.Stylish and laid back at the same time. The staff are friendly and cool, the clientèle are likewise laid back and cool while the food is Mediterranean fusion of fresh salads and fish dishes with a hint of Asian influence. It's an above average beach club that you can loose yourself in for the day, excellent.

L'Assiette is a lovely traditonal French restaurant tucked away in the streets of the old town in Cannes, also known as Le Suquet. The walls are decorated with famous clientele to both the restaurant and Cannes. With such a cosy atmosphere it is a place to linger over a bottle of wine with friends, either to avoid the hot sun of the daytime or to settle in for the evening.

L'Annex is one of the many beach bars and restaurants that line La Croisette and Cannes beach. The decor is stylish and relaxed with dark timber, steel and glass. The restaurant sits in the shadow of Cannes' famous Carlton Hotel and has uninterrupted views of the Med. Fish is a speciality and presentation is modern twist on tradtional food.

Le Grand Cafe is one of the many restaurants to line the street just behind La Croisette. There are a lot of cafe's and places to eat along this street but many of them are cramped and offer little more than a view of the traffic. Le Grand Cafe is set back from the road and the food is basic but good quality and price. It is a good place to stop for a cafe, a light lunch or to watch the world go by.

"Vega Luna beach club! It's my new favourite place to go in Cannes. I could have happily moved in and even slept there to not miss my front row beach bed. The restaurant food is lovely and I think they have ordered their staff off the 'unusually helpful and Nice' website. We got completely carried away and stayed for one too many digestifs and then slept them off under the safety of a parasol. It was my birthday and we were on holiday, it's what you do!"

"Sushikan, meaning 'Sushi Cannes' is a very good sushi restaurant with the traditional Tokyo carousel, and optional table service if you desire. We found it to be really excellent and modestly priced, with an absolute feast of sushi, sashimi and other dishes with drinks and coffees coming out at about €79-80 per person. Very friendly staff."

"Le Grand cafe in Cannes.
I've been to Cannes a few times and for some reason we always have a problem finding somewhere to eat. Just somewhere nice, for lunch, to sit and watch the world go by. There are lots of nice beach restaurants but sometimes you want to sit and look at people, not the sea. Le Grand Cafe is the perfect spot for me.
A lot of the cafes along the Croisette are actually really close to the road so you feel like you are sitting looking at the sides of cars and sucking up traffic fumes. Le Grand though is set back from the road and there's a lovely terrace, perfect for people watching. We sat there all afternoon. The food is good, not expensive although I just had my favourite lunchtime special of omlette and chips. As much as I love them I'm not eating Dublin Bay prawns in Cannes. It's just not right :-)"
