The French Riviera was initially made famous as a Winter holiday resort. During the war American GI's arrived and brought with them a fearless attitude to the sun and summertime tourists began to arrive in earnest. Hotels gave way to luxury apartments, villas and yachts for the next generation of holidaymakers to rent.
Summer hit

Beausoleil in Spring
The springtime is the perfect time to visit Beausoleil if you don't like summer crowds but still enjoy the sunshine. There is a misconception that the French Riviera is packed and overcrowded all the time which is simply not true. It is busy in the month of July, more so in August but the rest of
the year the pace is more relaxed and the streets and beaches are uncluttered. Springtime in the South of France is a particularly beautiful time, the weather is warm and sunny and the air is fragrant with the potent scent of abundant spring flowers with jasmine, gardenia, oleander and lavendar all beginning to show their faces.
Late spring see's the official start of the tourist season and the French Riviera springs into life with the Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival and lots of other smaller seasonal events in every town and village, from Monaco's philharmonic concerts to a fun fair in the port and a line up of events and exhibitions in the Grimaldi forum aswell as street markets in Beausoleil and British Theatre productions.
In Monaco you will find tennis exhibition tournaments, football matches in the Stade Louis II and an international show jumping event in a purpose built arena in the port amongst some of the activities to be found.
Beausoleil in Summer
Summer is the fun time. It's busy and bustling. Beausoleils proximity to Monaco lets you have the best of Monaco's glamourous events at French prices, a lot more reasonable. Monaco is in full swing and the events schedule should keep everyone occupied
There is an open air cinema, rock concerts, charity balls, floor shows, ballet performances, art exhibitions and museum presentations. The Port becomes an adventure playground and fun park with rides and stalls for adults and children. There are live outdoor music concerts, international antiques fair, and an international fireworks competition throughout the summer months.
Beausoleil in Winter
Winter is the time to visit if you like winter sports, clear crisp days and deep blue skies. Beausoleil is sheltered by it's high mountains to the North which create one of the infamous 'micro climates' of this region. Remembering that this is the time of year that established the French Riviera's fame.
In Beausoleil you are 1hr30 mins away from the nearest ski station across the border in Italy. Skiing day trips are also available by bus from Nice for a day of activity in the mountains followed by all the facilities of the large coastal towns by night.
Winter is also the time when you will find the area decorated for christmas with red carpets laid out on the streets, music playing from every street corner, christmas fairs in every town centre and ice skating rinks dotted around the larger towns including Monaco. The port in Monaco will be white no matter what with rides, shows, gift and food stalls as well as ice karting and ice hockey exhibitions.
January sees the World Rally championship arrive into town for the Monte Carlo Rallye and there is also an International Circus Festival with lots of different acts from different countries competing for top honours.
