Cagnes-sur-Mer is situated along the coast 13km West of Nice. It's nearest neighbour to the East is Antibes. A former fishing village the 'Cros-de-Cagnes' now attracts more tourists than fishermen to it's 3.5 kilometres of beach front.
The old town or 'Haut Cagnes' is a medieval village perched 91 metres above sea level and boasts famous artists like Renoir, Cezanne and Modigliani as previous residents. it is also well know along the coast for it's race track, the Hippodrome and has recently added a brand new promenade along the seafront.
The towns population is 43,000 and it lies off Junction 48/47 of the A8 motorway.
