Where is Pisa
Pisa is located on the Italian Riviera in the region of western Tuscany and the province of Pisa. It is situated in the middle of 'Piana di Pisa' which is the largest flood plain in Tuscany between the two rivers of Arno and Serchio. It is neighboured by Viareggio, 23.5 kilometres, and Livorno, 22 kilometres.
Pisa is slightly inland but is just 13 kilometres from the sea and at it's highest oint rises to just 4 metres above sea level. The airport is called Galileo Galilei and is 1.5 kilometres north of the city centre. Florence is 85 kilometres away and Rome 359km.
The population of Pisa is 92,000 and it is a famous university town in Italy with a university that was first built in 1343. Pisa is serviced by the A11 motorway.
