Saint Raphael is a lovely, historical seaside town on the French Riviera that lies between Cannes and St Tropez. It is situated in the Var (83) department of the PACA (Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur) region of Southern France.
It is half way between Cannes, 39.9km to the East and Saint Tropez which lies 38km to it's west. From Nice airport it takes approximately one hour to drive and is about 70 kilometres to the East.
Saint Raphael is twinned with it's neighbouring town of Fréjus, once an important Roman town and port. With a wealth of culture and acres of white sandy beaches it is a popular holiday destination for whom the glamour and crowds of St Tropez are a little too much.
Saint Raphael is closest to Nice airport which is little more than an hours drive away but you can also use Toulon-Hyéres too which is about 95km in the other direction. Marseille airport is another possibility with good rail links but at 140km it is the furthest away.
