| The traditonal cusine in St Tropez is a light mediterranean menu with a strong emphasis on fish as this is a fishing village and it is usually of the highest and freshest standard. You will find all the usual pasta and pizza dishes too as well as ice cream parlours and some wonderful patisseries |
As with almost every town in France there is a local speciality too. La Tarte Tropeziennes came to St Tropez with it's creator Alexandre Micka. A receipe that he brought with him from his Polish Grandmother, this extravagant cream cake gained notoriety on a certain film set that was also just about to become notorious.
Micka had been asked to cater for the film crew of the Brigitte Bardot launch film, 'And God Created Women'. At her suggestion the crews favourite cream cake was named and has become a local legend in its own right. See below to find out where to find it and also to see more about the food of St Tropez.

La Tarte Tropezienne
Alexander Micka is the founder and creator of both this bakery and the famous cake of the same name. Where else would you go to taste this local speciality than to the place of it's creation. Also find freshly baked breads and delicious pastries. |

Le Club 55 is one of the longest standing beach clubs. The clientele tend to be wealthy, famous or both and the atmosphere is more modestly restrained than some of the other beach clubs. The food is exceptional, the fish in particular and dishes to try are the sea bass and the raw vegetable plate with anchovy butter. |

From the outside Cafe de Paris looks like any other port side cafe with tables arranged facing out to sea. Inside the decor is much more sumptuous with red velvet banquettes and a long brasserie style bar. This restauarnt is trendy, with sushi as it's speciality but the ambiance is old school glamour. Inside is much more sumptuous that the exterior but it's right at the heart of the port so it's great to watch the world go by. |

Whatever about the food of this restaurant the immediate surroundings and ambiance alone are worth the visit. Situated on the pretty, leafy square in St Tropez the food is also happily good value and good quality. Local, market fresh ingredients served in an excellent atmosphere. |

For a very special night out try Spoon at the infamous Tropezienne Hotel, Le Byblos. The hotel is very beautiful built around a courtyard framed with typical provencal stone buildings, it is not at all imposing rather intimate and friendly despite its luxury.The restaurant has won several awards and chef Gearges Pelissier is an former pupil of Alain Ducasse. A gastronomique experience. |
