Eze-sur-Mer is an exclusive and narrow strip of seaside sheltered on every side by a dramatic mountain landscape. Far from the madding crowd Eze-sur-Mer remains a quiet and pretty spot on a bustling and busy coast. It is essentially a beach holiday destination which, with it's high celebrity head count and seclusion afforded by the topography, has the added cache of exclusivity.
Visit the beaches in Eze
The beach in Eze-sur-Mer is protected from the road and rail lines by a short steep slope which makes the beach feel very secluded and quiet with no cars or car parks disturbing your view or your peace.
It is a pebble beach but the water is very clear and clean and there are areas where the pines trees form a beautiful, breezy natural canopy under which to find shade. There are four beach clubs and restaurants from which to choose or just find your own spot on the public sections and enjoy your day.
Beach mats and sea shoes
It is a pebble beach but if you are prepared, with mats and shoes that you can wear into the water, you will have a great time.
Although it is a small area Eze sur-Mer still offers good facilities and plenty of water sports options through the Club Nautique located on the seafront. You will find contacts in the RG directory.
You can choose from sailing, kayaking or diving amongst other sports although mostly they are of the unmotorised variety and you will have to go further afield for flying fish or jet ski antics. The beach clubs also have tiny tenders with water slides for hire to peddle around the bay.
Drop anchor in Eze
If you have your own boat or hire a boat for the day, Eze is a good spot to drop anchor and enjoy a quiet swim.
Go hiking in Eze
There are several walks around the Eze area that are carefully mapped for visitors to find. They are usually signposted and easy to follow and also graded on how difficult they are and how long they will take you.
There is one walk that begins on the seafront and follows a route that takes you high into the Eze slopes for some breathtaking views. It is called the Circuit du Mont Bastide and route details can be found on the hillwalking website. Find details in RG directory or the tourist office in Eze
Not for the feint hearted
This walk takes you up ascents of 600 metres and takes up to 4 hours to complete.
