The property is elegantly decorated and beautiful in its simplicity. The light, wooden furnishings contrast beautifully with the dark, stone floors and are punctuated by the traditional fireplace, natural stone wall and the leafy wall plants which climb all the way up to the exposed roofbeams.

Les Mayons has just one landmark, that of the Grandfather Chestnut Tree which is hundreds of years old, located in the centre of the village. There are many little streets leading from the village, ideal for taking a stroll, the most famous of which would be the Castel des Maures, leading through the pine, oak, cork and chestnut trees of Les Mayons. Local specialities include honey, jams, chestnuts and strawberries.

"This gite is suitable for anyone looking to get away from it all. Due to its rural location a car is a must for exploring the area. A lovely little hideaway made enjoyable by having a pool, the apartment is well equipped but basic. Our host Danny was very friendly and did everything to accommodate us. Approximately 15-20 minutes to shops, wireless internet, peaceful location."
