The European economy is in the doldrums, the United States is making heavy weather of its recovery and everyone is looking to the East as the goose that will lay the golden egg of the future.
Small wonder then that this years property marketplace, MIPIM, held annually in Cannes, is focusing on the Asian property market. A total of ten Asian territories will be represented at the Cannes property market event amongst which will be the big hitters; China, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore and South Korea.
Over the three day period of this intensive international event 250 speakers will present at 60 different conferences. The focus of some, but not all, will be in building relations between the East and the West, such as 'Asia: A business hub of choice', 'China: Investment diversification' and 'Real estate investment opportunities in a time of crisis' which looks at the Japanese market following its recent tsunami and nuclear near disaster.
Europe is not to be forgotten however, and Germany, currently the most successful economy in the European Union, will be the country of honour during MIPIM 2012. Many conferences will also focus on European recovery and where the future lies as well as building innovations.
Sometimes out of the most trying of times come the greatest opportunities and with nearly 20,000 participants, from 90 countries expected to trip through the Palais des Festival in the coming week there will be plenty of people exploring every possibility.
MIPIM 2012 is due to commence on March 6th 2012 and will conclude on March 9th 2012. For local information or last minute accommodation for MIPIM contact Riviera Rental Guide.
