Following emergency surgery on his back in Munich earlier this month Bono has been spotted taking things a bit easier near his South of France home in Eze sur Mer. The energetic performer had been suffering with a compressed sciatic nerve that required attention and has been the cause of cancelled dates on the latest leg of the 360 degree tour.
U2 were expected in North America for the second leg of their North American tour but the pain was too over whelming for the front man to continue and the dates have been put on hold.
Bono was seen, on his feet at least, lunching in the exclusive near by resort town of St Jean Cap Ferrat earlier this month. He is due back later in the summer to fully recuperate and get back in shape for the remaining gruelling tour schedule.
Bono may have been getting some fitness tips from his old friend Lance Armstrong, 5 times Tour de France winner, who joined him on a short break and tweeted a picture of himself with his "old friend".
He could have done with some time off despite the back injury after a long but successful year on tour throughout 2009. The 360 degree gigs have reported to have grossed $110 million, and topping the tables of highest paid shows in that year. |
