 The NRJ music awards traditionally kicks off the proceedings for Midem in Cannes, the music event in the world of entertainment, but all did not run quite as smoothly as in previous years.
The usual top notch celebrity guests were in attendance with Rihanna, Mika, Jay-Z, The Black eye Peas, Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Akon and French superstar Jennifer contributing to the world class headcount.
Unfortunately the prestigious French music awards were slightly calamitous with missed cues, sound and timing issues, forgotten winners envelopes and even the wrong winners name announced causing some embarrassment of all involved. Not the first time this fiasco has happened as Katy Perry was called for a Rihanna trophy the previous year.
Fortunately the night was saved by a rocking performance by The Black Eyed Peas duetting with DJ of the moment, David Guetta.
Rihanna stole the 'fashion moment' on the red carpet is a stunning white and silver creation by Jean Paul Gaultier proving that she can rock the Cannes red carpet just as well as any Hollywood A-lister at the Film Festival. |
