The Monaco Yacht Show 2011 is about to open its doors once again onto a stunning array of the worlds biggest, best and most luxurious super yachts that the world has to offer. It can no longer be dubbed the only super yacht show in the world since Dubai has started it's own version but it is the longest running, the most international and the most prestigious yacht show where millions of dollars worth of business are concluded each year.
By design this is a show that is all about luxury but for this years show the watch word is also sustainability and seeing solar powered yachts in the future may not be as far off as you might think.
However the biggest draws at the show will be the super luxury yachts and this year sees 40 new designs being debuted in the Monaco Harbour, that will be 10 more than last year.
The private yacht sector shows little sign of abating as the worlds super rich adore the freedom, luxury and peace that taking to the waves affords them. Designs in recent years have been thrown wide open with designers such as Phillippe Stark applying his hand to yacht interiors.
Power boat specialist 'Spire' will be showing their cutting edge Thierry Mugler designed 9.5 metre concept tender. The French fashion designer has turned his creative hand to similar projects designing concept cars and private jet interiors and has taken inspiration from the 1950's muscle cars for this special project.
The 21st annual Monaco Yacht Show will open it's doors to this floating extravagance on September 21st 2011 until September 24th. Admission price is €65 for the public with tickets available on site from ticket desks. Although if you have a serious interest then contact a yacht broker who will undoubtedly offer you an invitation. |
