 We know the drill, this is the fifth series after all. First the auditions filter out a select few from a fold of millions. Then comes boot camp where even more are whittled out amidst floods of tears of despair and jubilation.
Then comes the selection of the final contestants as private auditions and mentoring sessions are held at the judges homes. If they are indeed the judges personal homes then it would seem that Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue have more in common than pop princess titles, they are neighbours.
As the X Factor entourage rolled into town Cheryl Cole took up residence in a villa in Cannes to over see her protégés auditions and make her final three selection from the group of girls.
Danni meanwhile sauntered further afield to glamorous St Tropez to take up residence in her luxurious South of France home, with Spice girl Emma Bunton on hand to help her decide.
The hills in the Var must have been ringing with the sound of music as the twelve contestants battled with all their hearts to make it into the final live shows.
The back drop was beautiful with the young contestants inspired by the breathtaking views over Cannes from Cheryl's luxury villa as they took to the balcony to sing for possibly the last and final time.
Things were reportedly a little more strained over in St Tropez with the over 25's group complaining that they hadn't seen much of Danni during the final auditions in her gorgeous St Tropez home. Contestant Suzie Furlonger complained that Danni had missed commitments and was hardly around during their time in St tropez but did concede that, "She was nice when she was around but we didn't get to know her at all."
Danni it seemed preferred to party with her gal pals and Emma Bunton in St Tropez's gorgeous hot spots and beaches. With the hectic schedule that is no doubt coming up on the X Factor who can really blame Ms Minogue for taking every opportunity that she can to enjoy a quick holiday in St Tropez and, if Suzie makes it through she can rest assured she'll be getting plenty of mentoring from Danni when it all moves back from the sunny South of France to the UK's chilly shores. |
